We are in a pandemic. Who would've thought that this would be an experience in this lifetime? A lot of us are dealing with major changes and with that, comes mental turmoil. What are you doing to keep your mental peace? What is your healthy hobby? Is it drawing, singing, taking long hot showers?
How about journaling? According to the University of Rochester Medical Center, journaling is "One of the ways to deal with any overwhelming emotion is to find a healthy way to express yourself. This makes a journal a helpful tool in managing your mental health. Journaling can help you: Manage anxiety, reduce stress, and cope with depression"
It is like your adult diary where you can let loose your innermost thoughts without holding back or fear of judgment. Journaling does not replace therapy but can be apart of a therapeutic approach when dealing with the complex feelings that you may experience.
This about what your healthy hobby is and determine if it brings you a moment of peace or a moment of joy. Evaluate what benefits it gives you, but if you do not have one, consider journaling and give it a try to see if it can help you in your current state of mind.
